Star Citizen game night is Wednesday nights. Arena Commander and the PU, even with its inherent glitches, is a fun way to spend an evening.
When GrimHex was introduced, I played the mission to find it, gained access to the satellite to reveal it’s location.and finally made it there. Then I ran into the glitch and became a public enemy. Try as I might, I couldn’t get out of GrimHex, and when I finally made it to Kalreah security station, I was promptly killed by another player, only to respawn once more in……you guessed it……Grimhex.
So with the help of Cullan and PsychoJoe on the game night, I was finally able to get out of the asteroid belt, get to Kalreah and finally get inside where PJ stood guard while I accessed the mainframe. My name was cleared, and the next respawn found me on Port Olisar, much to my relief.
I needed my team to get there, I needed Cull and PJ to watch my back, just like we’ll need it when Star Citizen launches the persistent universe.
GrimHex is beautiful in its own right, the heavy industry feel, the dim alleys, pools of murky light and metallic sound, but it’s atmosphere is a bit rough on my graphics card and the trapped inside a wall experience can be a little frustrating. But as a Star Citizen, I just tell myself “ it’s in alpha” and continue playing on.
The struggle in the PU, when all the wrinkles are ironed out, will be whether a player can make it on their own.
Part of the reasoning behind the SC game night is to foster co-operation within Oddysee, supporting your orgmate in-game and working on tactics. “cains you’re overreacting, we’re a long ways from getting in game, more people will get involved when the PU launches…….”
Yes, I’ve heard it before, and as many Oddyseeans that are out there that just want to have fun, there are just as many of us out there who want to have fun and WIN!
And I also want to show the members that leave, the ones that say we don’t do enough as a group, that they are wrong. Alasmon (Cykhat ) has said before that members need to get involved, that they can make this a more active org and has always been open to new ideas. Redtir and ymort have proven that.
So….in game, when it comes down to it, like when I coached soccer, who shows up? Who would I want to fly a Pathfinder mission? A player coming online to hang out, have some fun in the glitch ridden alpha, whose reactions I know, or someone who shows up and says “ Hey…I joined up 3 years ago but have only been online twice…..”
You know the answer. We need to win.
We are a PMC, and we need to win, we need to achieve our objectives in order to get paid. So as Senior Chief Pathfinder, report to game nights, do your duty, quit your whining and act like the member you were recruited to be.
You need to be there for Oddysee, we’re counting on you.
