//Welcome Back//
Welcome back to all of you reading this at the helm, second one for the year. Been a month already and I still don’t feel like its 2016 yet, time really flies. This at the helm will be kept rather short as, a whole lot hasn’t been happening lately. In turn I accept that has been a failure on my part. So to set the tone for this at the helm, I’ll be focussing on interactivity with and within the group for this article.
//The Issue//
To all of you who are a part of this community which I am proud to call, I’d go so far as to say like a family to me I will once again apologise. I haven’t been doing as much as I had hoped to for this group in the past month.
There are two factors to this:
- The first factor is lack of community events. Earlier this year I promised to get more events happening for us, so that we could grow as a group. Unfortunately this has hinged on my engagement with both you and the other community leaders to make this happen. Unfortunately I have not been diligent enough in ensuring these events, something I’d like to fix going forward.
- The second factor but equally is my lack of my interaction with the group, personally. I could try to make excuses for this, but I won’t. As the group leader I need to maintain a better connection with you guys, and I will attempt to correct this going forward. If any of you believe I am not holding up to my word you can always send me a private message and I will reflect and correct my actions. As always open door policy and if there’s an issue, you are always welcome to let me know.
//Community Interaction//
Going off the issues stated above, I would like to drive for greater community interaction, not just myself but with the group as a whole. Before I go on I’d like to take this moment to thank each and every one of you who get on and talk and play games with each other. Specially those of you that make it a habit to jump on discord and hang out with each other.
Over the past month I’ve seen the podcasts kick off thanks to the podcasting team and trickles of community members streaming with each other. Honestly, it’s a great sight to see. However I’d like to do more. Going forward I’d like to really push for the groups support of community content creation. If you guys have any suggestions on how we can go about this I’d love to hear the methods you guys can think up whether it be something to do with our website or whatever else you can think of. If it’s feasibly doable let me know.
Another form of community interaction that we’ve had in the past is community events such as the Oddfights we frequently hosted last year. I’d like to get those back on track but we need you, the community to let us know what type of games you believe would be fun to play at these events.
For all of these suggestions you can get in contact with me through discord or alternatively through cykhat@oddysee.org.
//Closing//
If you’ve made it this far once again, congratulations! I know this months at the helm hasn’t been as content heavy as the others but what was discussed, I believe is important. Oddysee and myself rely on you the members to make sure that we continue to thrive and succeed, as such it was important to address the details within this post. Remember I always maintain a welcoming open door policy for everyone so if any of you have any issues and suggestions on how me or the rest of the team could be doing things better please don’t be afraid to get in contact.
Kind regards
Cykhat
