3.0 By Christmas?
We saw Gamescon come and go, and now Citizencon. I must admit, I was far more impressed with Citizencon than the former. The planet tech, with the Coruscant-style city-planet of ArcCorp brought to life and industrial, strip-mined wastelands of Hurston completely blew me away and reinvigorated my hype engine, which admittedly has been running a little low as of late. The Pioneer solidified the direction I had a feeling they were going to take the game several years ago when I first saw Pupil to Planet – that of land assets owned and operated by players. That’s more in the realm of LID though, so I won’t ponder too much on it. The Saber Raven was an interesting announcement as well, and if you are looking for a new top-end SSD drive for your killer gaming rig, you can’t go wrong with the Optane 900P, which is truly the fastest thing out there by far… and you get a free ship with it – or is it you get a free drive with purchase of the ship?
As we get even nearer to 3.0’s launch, I think everyone is seeing how huge a deal this launch is to everything. I’m hopeful for around Christmas, but mostly, I’m more anxious for them to get the networking and instancing settled to the point where we can all meet up in game and start doing operations. Cainsrebel and especially Lord Corwin hit it out of the park this month with a recap of the last several months of Star Citizen news, so I’m going to keep it at this and let you go onward to read his stuff. Till next month, Demonseed out.
