Hope for the best, plan for the worst. It’s no surprise that the date for 3.0 has been pushed back. The trade off of course is they are hammering out and fine tuning the tech getting dumped into the 3.0 alpha (as in not ready and I’m happy to test this development build). I really am just wanting to see how the Cargo system works so we can all hop in and run some scenarios. I think star voyager quoted it as being “Advanced Tetris”, though those might not have been his exact words.
Aside from that there are derelict ships and debris fields that have already been finished, which will hopefully open up more “emergent” gameplay such as ambushes or hide and go seek style gameplay. In last weeks ATV I did see the tractor beam chair mentioned it was getting close to finishing for 3.0 so with the combination of locations and added gameplay mechanics, I can’t wait to see what we end up with. The mission givers alone should have a bit of dynamism to them that the subsumption is in control of so if a person does or doesn’t care for you that much, they will or will not give out (or maybe give you different things to do comepletely) missions for you to accomplish.
We’ll be able to explore surface outposts so I hope the SOD branch can practice some surface assault missions with the oddysee troops. Intel will start being able to practice recon and hopefully assist the IED and SOD with intel about assets and resources that are out in the verse.
