Several months back, I put on a pretty crazy writing contest called “Write Something Amazing”.
For it, members who entered needed to submit to me three posts in three months time for three newsletters. The posts could be anything. Editorials, tutorials, reviews, creative fiction… and we got a pretty good mix of several. Holiday timeframes reared their ugly head, and when less than half the entrants were going to miss the second deadline, I decided to extend it a month for a “3 submissions within 4 months” contest.
Picking the winners was not easy. I have to admit, everything submitted was thoroughly excellent. I consulted several people about it, both inside and even outside of Oddysee. In the end, when I added everything up, I had a list I was pretty happy with. We had a few entrants unfortunately drop out, but overall, I was more than happy with the outcomes.
So the winners:
Lord Corwin – Winner of the EVGA GeForce 1080 Overclocked Graphics card – For his amazing “Hard Times” series!
Cainsrebel – Winner of the 1 Tb Crucial MX300 SSD drive – For his fantastic character background story in “A New Life”
Earthmark – Winner of a $100 Steam giftcard – For his outstanding techno-tutorial writeup of how modern graphic system work.
Eveyone else I decided were good enough to win a 4th place prize of a $50 Amazon gift card. – Redtir, graciously donated his winnings back to Oddysee to help with hosting costs! Many thanks dude!
I’d like to once again, whole-heartedly thank everyone who entered. I do plan to do it again sometime in the future, so until then, practice up!
