//Welcome Back//
Time sure does go by quick when you’re crushed by overwhelming amounts of things to do. Barely noticed this month go by. That said, on the Oddysee front things have been quiet. Perhaps a little too quiet from my end… With that said, let’s go over some of the things that have been cooking.
//New Appointments//
Here’s some juicy news for you guys, affecting the whole of Oddysee. Specifically, in terms of events and fantasy MMORPG’s. I know we’ve dropped the ball, me especially in delivering on the whole community involvement front in terms of events. We’ve also been having a rather massive lean on the American side for leadership positions and general admin work. So how are we remedying that?
- New Community event manager (Someone finally put their hand up!!)
- Induction of a leader for the fantasy MMORPG’s specifically Black Desert
Juicy right? Let me go into more detail
//New community event manager//
So for delivering on the idea of more community events, one of our long standing and someone I have grown to consider a good friend despite our differences in opinions sometimes is Redtir. As someone who has been with Oddysee for quite some time, gained a considerable reputation and has put his hand up for any additional help the community needs he was a natural choice for this position. However, this choice did not come from me alone, I put this option to the board after Redtir volunteered to fill the void in community event manager.
With his energetic, charismatic and dedicated personality, I personally believe he is a good choice for the community. With all that said, I hope you’re looking forward to more action packed community nights for you all to be able to attend.
//New board officer induction//
This was more a personal recommendation that I pitched to both Ymort and the Board. I believe Ymort has shown a dedication to the Oddysee name as well as its values as one of the oldest members of the community. The reason for the promotion, and it’s a big one, is due to the fact that he has consistently maintained and established Oddysee within Black Desert, a task that was difficult to a few of the other game officers however given the opportunity he stepped up and managed to turn the community around. Building something that is truly quite amazing within that game.
With this in mind and his exceptional people skills (Maybe it’s an inherent skill that Germans have?) he has displayed the qualities I look for within the Oddysee board members. So what does this mean in terms of the long run for the community? Ymort will be heading up the Fantasy MMORPG arm of Oddysee. It’s a big task and we will open roles to support Ymort as needed however for the moment he has the same amount of power that the respective officers have over their arm of Oddysee within Star Citizen (As each branch of Oddysee will have huge roles).
//Community Council//
With the success of the first community council (20 people on at all times?!) and the community achieving much in the sense of planning for the future I think it’s safe to say it was a good thing, it worked. You know what they say about things that work? “If it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it”. With that said, the ‘soft’ date for the next community council is set:
19th of November 2016
So I hope you’ll all turn up for that. More information and the date will be locked in and posted on the announcements and Event announcements channel.
//Closing//
Well, this was meant to be a short at the helm but it ended up being a mini essay. I hope this is all exciting news for all of you and I hope you’ll support the two who have been assigned very big boots to fill. I have full faith in them, so I would love it if you would as well. Til’ next time (or on discord)
Kind regards
Cykhat
