AJ (Apple Joe) and I would chat over a lot of stuff in the early days of Star Citizen, having joined Oddysee as a way to role play the positions in game, I wanted to get an idea of what all would involved as a member of an online group. A lot of our chats revolved around what we would do in certain situations, and the detail he put into his game was pretty intense. In that vein, I was enthusiastic about both the game and actual role play we would be involved in. And no, it was not so I could dress up in a Star Trek uniform and shouting “pew, pew, pew”, but so I could be immersed in the Star Citizen universe.
Chris Roberts’ SC is exactly the game most of us were waiting for, all of us frustrated astronauts could live out our dreams. A game where one can create their own story, create their own organisations, create their own fortunes and their own legends.
The Oddysee PMC would also be a legendary force within the universe.
Ex-miltary members would bring the realism a bit closers to the surface, training for pilots, training for marines, all the promise of adventure and action from the seat in front of the PC.
So naturally, AJ wanted to become the Oddysee historian, chronicling the massive task of salvage after Operation Pitchfork, the first discovery of the Bengal carrier by the Senior Chief Pathfinder, the crushing defeat of the Vanduul by SOD pilots and the capture of the first space station by Oddysee Star Marines.
It is a lot of work, but perhaps something to be considered for the future. A repository of video, stories and gameplay within SC might be an option, so tjat the work doesn’t fall on a single members shoulder. When the PU launches, let’s keep track of the battles, the dogfights and even the trips through a wormhole. For posterity and for the glory and the Oddysee PMC .
