So! Here we are in another review. For this one I preferred to go for a classic that never gets old. That’s right – Roller Coaster Tycoon 2! This game has been one of my favorites since my childhood and, indeed, it is one of the best business simulation games.

When we start off with a new game, there are plenty of scenarios to choose from. They could be anything from the beginner parks to the super-complicated Six Flags Parks. Once you start playing a park, you are free to work in any way you want in order to achieve not only the mission goals but your own. It can be difficult at times to pick up the pace on the flow of money but  the guests will take care that for you once you have enough attractions in your park.

The mechanics of the game are greatly improved upon from the last iteration. In Roller Coaster Tycoon, the graphics are pretty much the same but the quantity of attractions and behaviour of the guests are better than ever. The game may look a bit too much like the 90’s but then again why is minecraft one of the most popular games in the world!

The mechanics of the game are what make it so great. You are free to do whatever you want and how you want it. If you feel evil then you can set a deathtrap that will send countless guests to their horrible deaths or you can make sure you have the safest park in the country! (There is even an award for that.) You can also hop on the map editor and build your perfect scenario to make the biggest, baddest park you have ever dreamed of.

To finalize, I want to encourage you all to not just go for the 60 dollar top tier game released this year, but also look back on the good ol’ games that molded gaming as we know it. Go and soak in that good childhood nostalgia that makes you remember the good times past!
