//Welcome Back//

Welcome all, phew is it hot out or is it just me? *queue crappy laughter*. Summers been a scorcher this year in the southern hemisphere and I imagine Winter must’ve been pretty chill for all of you in the northern hemisphere. This episode of at the Helm will be kept short and sweet mainly due to the fact that being next to a computer in this heat is not the most pleasant.

Moving past the horrible intro, I’ll talk about two new games in the past month that’s great for us here at Oddysee. Those being; “Black Desert” and “Tom Clancy’s: The Division” and why they’re so great.

//Shiny new games//

Now before I go on, I know what you’re all secretly thinking (maybe not really… but we’ll roll with it.) “But Cyk! We’re a Star Citizen group”, to which I reply we are! That’s our origins, but currently there’s no game for us to play except in small groups. To me that’s an issue. We’ve been seeing nothing but decline over the past several months in terms of our activity, but I already wallowed in misery over that plenty enough at the last ‘At the Helm’

One of the reasons the past couple of weeks has been exciting to me in particular is the release of Black Desert and The Division. Both these games represent two things for me;

  1. A Hell of a good time
  2. A chance for us to party up again and get that community interaction happening.
  3. Fresh blood(?)

//Black Desert//

This game has been something I’ve personally been eyeing off for nearly as long as the fabled Star Citizen. The amount of customisation both of your character and what you can do within the game itself are astounding, however I know it does have its quirks. Though I’m not here to provide a review (But if you were taking it from me, it’s incredibly fun, if you get a chance to, pick it up!).

Aside from the gameplay itself what this game means for us as a whole is due to the amount of guild features that the game offers it allows us a chance to get back together other than those late night Oddysee chat, to play a game as a community. With that said I’d also like to welcome a few people who have come over to join us in Black Desert from the one and only Sol Armada. They’ve teamed up with us in Black Desert under the Oddysee name and I insist that you make them feel like part of the family that we are.

P.S. For those that play we’re on the NA Orwen server!

//The division//

Unfortunately I haven’t got a whole lot to write about this game that I haven’t already written up so far, mainly due to the fact it’s not quite released as of the time I am writing it. I believe like Black Desert it will encourage us to get together and play more as well as perhaps bring in some new blood. If it’s anything to go by from the CBT (Closed beta test) I played; we’re in for some good times with this game.

//Closing//

Well, I thought it was going to be short but it didn’t end up being short did it… my bad. But hey, you’ve reached the end so congrats! Thanks again for tuning in to another at the Helm and for being as excellent as you guys are. I hope to see you all in game sometime in the near future.

Kind regards

Cykhat
