Welcome back to another at the Helm, for this at the helm it’ll be none other than me, Cykhat as your captain for this voyage. It’s drawing to the end of 2015 so as a foreward I would like to wish you all a happy holidays. I hope each and every one of you has had a exceptional year this 2015 and hope you finish it off even better!

During this at the helm I’ll be letting you all know the finalized community managers, some affiliates we’ve gained and a bit of discussion about the 2.0 hype that I’m sure all of us (and our wallets) are feeling. I’ll also briefly go into the new page that we’ve setup for donations, but more on that later.

//Community Managers//

I won’t go too in-depth into this as it was covered in-depth on the last At the Helm #7. However I have finally finalised the community managers. We’ve had a lot of interest in these positions and we will be working to get everyone trained up ASAP to ensure that the  transition goes smoothly from member to community manager to ensure that everyone at Oddysee has a good experience.

Without further ado, the following people have been chosen to be community managers for Oddysee.

• Evly
• Starvoyager
• Varrus

I have chosen these particular people as community managers based upon their activity and commitment to the organisation and I believe you will all find them agreeable choices.

We have also shifted HaTo_HeRo and Lord Corwin into these positions as it is very much in line with what was required of them. As part of the community manager setup, current officers of Oddysee who have already been doing these jobs in part have been given the option to become community managers. As such the following officers have been setup as community managers:

• Demonseed
• Cainsrebel
• Vrax

All of these people will act under the supervision of myself and Tom as well as the lead Community manager WoodHaus. Please keep in mind every one of these people have been hand chosen by myself to ensure that you all remain the priority, so if you run into any issues please do not hesitate to contact them, they will take care of you, Guaranteed.

//Affiliates//

Lately you might have noticed a new visitor in our room, Apollonaught. He’s an excellent person of high caliber who we have established friendly relations with (Sol Armada, formerly Grenadzier). This is in part with the new affiliation system we have come up with, where we will allow a maximum of two people from a external organisation to come and mingle with our ranks as a diplomat. So remember to be welcoming to these people because we might just be working with them one day in Star citizen!

//2.0 and it’s implications//

Though this particular portion is aimed at those of our membership who are focused on Star citizen, as with the affiliation section above, with 2.0 public release looming not too far off into the future we will be starting back up more events. Not all of them going forward will include prizes however we hope you will all still come by and take part in them.

Upon 2.0’s release we would like your idea’s on which you all would prefer, whether it be a small event that runs over a couple of hours or a all day event or perhaps even a weekend event. Get back to me, or one of the community managers to let us know!

//Donations//

We’ve finally done it, we’ve got donations setup. Running the services we provide for you guys here at oddysee (the VPS that hosts our website and Teamspeak as well as the ARK server) costs quite a bit of money, as such we’ve decided to allow you all to help out and contribute.

It’s not compulsory and no one will gain preference over each other simply because they donated however you will go down in our books as someone who ‘Did us a solid’.  You can find it by going through here Donations page. Everything is handled through Paypal so you know it is secure! We might eventually add stripe functionality to it too.
